Katie Holmes Engagement Ring

In June, 2005, at the Eiffel Tower in Paris Tom Cruise first proposed to Katie Holmes with a five carat oval-shaped diamond engagement ring in platinum and rose gold with an intricate pave setting, reminiscent of art deco engagement ring style or other more ‘antique-ish’ designs. The stone set in white rose gold and resting in a pave setting, topped off what many feel was a truly unique and elegant engagement ring.

With Katie’s petite figure and slender hands, so the engagement ring is too big for her narrow fingers.

Furthermore, the ring is typically photographed sliding around her finger, which could mean that the ring size is incorrect or the stone is so weighty that it inadvertently pulls to the side.

The ring relates to its overall design – such a large stone and high setting can easily catch on clothing and other jewelry, making wearing it awkward. And Katie is unable to pair her large engagement ring with her wedding band because of its awkward size.
